Sep. 19th, 2011 06:04 pmFor my first through fifteenth birthdays, I was thrown lavish parties that were attended by hundreds of people. For my eighteenth today, I spent half of it with my mother, and half of it with my sister.
The Fire Nation royal parties were always excellent and they had a great deal of meaning, but I almost like it this way better. The well-wishes of an entire country are something to be incredibly proud of, but I think the well-wishes of those that I've chosen to call family are, in their own way, just as important. Maybe even more so.
This does not make me overly sentimental.
